Youth

August 20, 2010
My Youth was shared, not wasted.
Dedicated to Love and affection.
Never a question!
Under pressure, simplicity.
Every challenge a lesson.

Duct tape storage DIY.

Who doesn't love duct tape?
I took a Walmart brand diaper box and covered it with pink duct tape.
I'm now in the process of designing it. :)
Very fun project especially when the pink tape only cost me $.99 at old time pottery!
I snapped shots through the process.
It's still not done but most certainly a fun project with a cool outcome! Want to choose a specific color pattern?

Once upon a time..

There was a time when my most pressing concerns in the morning were answering emails and going to castings. But now with a 20 month old, I wake up to a mental list of things to do to prepare this baby for her day. We have smoothies and breakfast, diapers and day wear, attitudes and hissy fits, Mickey mouse and Bubble Guppies. Having a toddler equates to being a workhorse. Long gone are the days where I can shower whenever I want, fold laundry where ever I want or make meals how ever I want. I have to fit personal hygiene and household chores in when she's napping. I try to squeeze everything into that short window of slumber. That hour or 2 where there's not a human tornado creating a path of destruction  behind me.

I shot for magazines, I walked on runways, I hosted events, I emceed presentations and staffed multiple trade show booths at a time. Never did I guess that having a baby meant putting aside a lot of things that made me successful. Unfortunately, there's not enough time in each day to accomplish the amount of business I used to. I'd dedicate 6-8 hours to marketing myself and reaching out to potential employers. I'd make calls and do phone interviews. All the things you can't do while a 2 year old is crawling all over you, talking jibberish and yelling "Papa" into the phone while she sees you talking.

I'm sure soon enough I'll be somewhat the professional I used to be. Until then, I'll raise this brilliant baby the best way that I can, with Love, attention, patience, caring and concern for the woman she'll become.

Being a Model used to define me. Now, I'm a Mom!
